Not many know, that Go can be played in a team of two players for each colour… this form of GO is called Pair GO or Rengo.
In Korea even couples play Rengo Tournaments…

More infos what Rengo is you find at Sensei’s Library (SL) here:

Pls leave here your name by replying, if you are interested in playing REngo, e.g. on Go servers like DragonGoServer (DGS), Pandanet-IGS, KGS or OGS… (Rec.: Technically yet its not possible to setup a Rengo game on OGS where the software matches the moves of the 4 players and correct timer. We expect it in 2015, meanwhile on OGS we will use specific Rengo Team accounts (with multiple login).)

just coming from KGS server… witth a game I played as black in San-Ren-Sei-Style…. the fuseki worked, but the opponent white regognized the strategy by time and set a stone close to center (H10) early with move 18…. I didnt manage it to isolate white completly….
So the loss was huge as San-Ren-Sei is “all or nothing”. 🙂

I am inspired by the description about the “Grandfather of GO” (or the Father of Modern GO), so was called GO Pro Yasui Senchi ( 1764-1837).
Senchi’s style was notably different from the other players of his days, leading to one description of his play as “switching between the orthodox and unorthodox in fathomless ways“. His style was later revived and refined as shinfuseki in the 1930s
Senchi often began from the 4-5 and 3-5 points, played on the fourth and fifth lines, emphasized the center, and enjoyed building large center moyos.
Here a game from Sensei’s Libary Senchi played against Monetzu (7D) on 23rd December 1809 (Source: http://senseis.xmp.net/?YasuiSenchi )

A SRS game I played on KGS yesterday (14th July 2014)…. tks to CyclonBunny for the feedback and to sefo’s review.
As I do regularly, here a screenshot from the deeper analysis/review… the split J10-K9 could have worked to isolate whites left side
